We are looking for a few staff members with specialized interests!
We are looking for people who are hard-working, responsible, eager to learn, enjoy working with others, have a passion for Fine Arts and who love working with kids!
Priority will be given to bilingual, suitable/qualified candidates 15 to 30 years of old (as of June 25), who are available for the June 25th training week, and who are also available to work the entire six weeks of camp (July 1 to August 9). The contract offers a minimum of 30 hours of work per week between the hours of 7am to 6pm (with varying start and end times).
Musical Theatre Instructor
The tasks and responsibilities of the Musical Theatre Instructor are to teach campers the basics of musical theatre. Campers will learn techniques in acting, singing, and dancing, culminating in a mini show by the end of the week.
The Musical Theatre Instructor will also be required to monitor the campers before class, at lunch time, and/or after camp while waiting for their pick up. As a monitor, the participant will be responsible for: supervising campers, planning fun and interesting activities, ensuring the safety and well-being of campers, and for reporting to the daycare director and camp director.
Computer Science Instructor
The tasks and responsibilities of the Computer Science Instructor are to teach campers the basics of programming while demonstrating creative approaches to problem solving. Campers will learn the basic principles of logic and sequencing while exploring and creating using online tools, e.g. Scratch.
The Computer Science Instructor will also be required to monitor the campers before class, at lunch time, and/or after camp while waiting for their pick up. As a monitor, the participant will be responsible for: supervising campers, planning fun and interesting activities, enduring the safety and well-being of campers, and for reporting to the daycare director and camp director.
Special Needs Counsellor
The tasks and responsibilities of the Special Needs Counsellors include assisting campers with physical and/or mental disabilities with mobility, communication, meal times, emotional regulation and personal hygiene. Special Needs Counsellors will support campers to modify and maximize personal development, offering personalized attention.
Special Needs Counsellors will also be required to monitor other campers before class, at lunch time, and after camp while waiting for pick up. As a monitor, the participant will be responsible for: supervising campers, planning fun and interesting activities, ensuring the safety and well-being of campers, and for reporting to the camp director.
The special needs counsellors will be expected to provide a daily summary to the camp director and the camper’s parents or caregivers.
