Our workshops are eligible for the ELAN Artists Inspire Grants.
Contact us to book an experience in your school, classroom or community group!
The following performances are designed for larger groups of students and can accommodate multiple grades or classes at a time (up to a maximum of 150 audience members). Shows can take place in an auditorium, gym or large outdoor space. All shows include student participation.
AGE GROUP: All ages (kindergarten, primary and secondary students)
DURATION: 50 minutes
Lésouta Luc Bambara has been sharing his culture and his passion for drumming and dancing in schools throughout Québec for over a decade. In this performance Luc will give students and staff a taste of culture from Burkina Faso, through a fun and energetic presentation of traditional African drumming and dancing.
Luc’s contagious energy always leave audience members feeling revitalized and thrilled. This amazing performance is good for the body and soul.

AGE GROUP: All ages (kindergarten, primary and secondary students)
DURATION: 50 minutes
Makhena, an Anishnabe-Cree, Franco-Ontarian hoop dancer, will present an interactive hoop dance workshop where they will perform, and then teach students how to execute basic steps, while also sharing about the regalia, history and ceremony behind this traditional storytelling art form.

AGE GROUP: All ages (kindergarten, primary and secondary students)
DURATION: 50 minutes
Maggie, of Tyendinaga Kanyen’kehá:ka Mohawk Nation, and Marie-Céline Einish, dancer, educator, ambassador and Indigenous Relations consultant from Naskapi Nation of Kawawachikamach, will provide a presentation that covers topics such as cultural appropriation, Indigenous culture, and the history of PowWows.
The presentation will finish with traditional and hoop dancing, as well as the opportunity for students to ask questions and participate in learning some basic dance moves.

In-Class dance and Movement Workshops
Interactive workshops delivered straight to your classroom, live or online. Workshops are available during school hours, at lunch time or after school. Please note: online workshops require a smart board (or equivalent) with internet access. Below is a list of workshops we currently offer.
AGE GROUP: Primary (Cycle 1 and up) and secondary students
Duration: 50 minutes (option to book several sessions available)
Students will get moving with the energetic and passionate fitness coach, Tanya DeVilliers, as she guides them through kid-friendly exercise circuits. Paired with discussion circles on overall health, students will learn how to develop a stronger mind-body awareness and will have fun while doing it!
AGE GROUP: Primary (Cycle 2 and up) and secondary students
DURATION: 50 minutes (option to book several sessions available)

Renowned salsa dancer, coach and 6x Salsa On2 World Champion Paulina Posadas, and So You Think You Can Dance alumni Adam Asselin-Rioux, collaborate together to create a fun, immersive, and dance class adaptable to all ages. In this workshop, our amazing Préville Dance Academy teachers will take students through the basics of latin dancing and be sure to have them moving in no time while also educating them on Latin culture.
AGE GROUP: Primary (Cycle 2 and up) and secondary students
DURATION: 50 minutes

Join Adam Asselin-Rioux, phenomenal choreographer, teacher, and So You Think You Can Dance alumni, in an interactive dance class in which students will learn basic break and b-boy/girl moves. The workshop will finish off with an old school dance battle that is sure to bring smiles and fun!
