Artist and creator, Craig Commanda and Chef, Jeff Pidgeon join the Préville Online! staff for the Spring 2021 session.
Meet Craig Commanda – Beadweaving
Craig Commanda is an Anishinaabe multi-disciplinary artist from the Kitigan Zibi Community. His wide-ranging artistic practice encompasses film, poetry, music and sound, and has taken him all over the world.
This Spring he’ll share his newest practice with Préville participants: the intricate art of beadweaving. Craig is teaching two classes: one for participants 10-15 years old and one for adults 16+. His classes will be taught LIVE online in English on Friday evenings.
Beadweaving is music, physics, painting, geometry, art, and beauty all in one, plus so much more. Anyone can learn how to do it. – Craig Commanda

Meet Jeff “The Chef” – Cooking Class

Jeff Pidgeon is a young, professional chef who has already gained significant experience in the hotel catering industry. He is eager to share his passion for the art and science of cooking, while encouraging young students to challenge themselves with what they can learn to do.
Jeff’s cooking class is for 10-14 year olds and will be taught bilingually LIVE online on Friday evenings, just in time for your child to make you dinner!
Take a moment to check out the Instagram page for Jeff’s new catering business, La Bouche Pleine.
Supply Kits For These Classes!
Both Craig and Jeff’s classes include very cool supply kits.
Craig will work with Hama beads, which will be easy for beginners to handle, and will also make seeing the patterns easier on camera. Included in the kit will also be a special tube of seed beads, to inspire participants to get even more creative. Here is a sneak peak, from the website of Shenandoah Beads, where we will source your supplies!

Cooking Class supply kits contain all of the basic utensils you will need, along with some special extras to make the class even more fun. All supplies are sourced through our partnership with Russell Hendrix Food Service Equipment and Supplies! Students will receive weekly lists of simple ingredients required for their class.
Did you know Préville Online! offers supply kits for many of our classes? We get a big kick out of seeing the reactions our participants get when they receive their supply kits! We just couldn’t resist documenting the joy in this short video:
We are very excited to introduce you to these new teachers and to offer their unique classes to our Préville Community! Registration is on now! The Spring session will begin March 8 and run until April 24.
Préville Online! It’s more than a class; it’s a community!
