Visual arts program
The Préville Fine Arts Centre offers a variety of visual art classes for beginner and seasoned artists alike. Each class is taught by an experienced artist with extensive knowledge of the medium at hand. These classes are a great way to experiment with new materials and explore different ways of expressing ideas through art and craft.
Save 5% when a student signs up for more than one class!
This class combo discount applies to all of our group classes. The 5% discount will automatically be applied at checkout and therefore classes must be on the same invoice. Future purchases will not be eligible.
VISUAL ARTS CLASSES
SEPTEMBER 2025 - JUNE 2026
ART CLASSES
In this fun and exciting drawing class, K–2 students will use their imagination to create amazing artwork! Young artists will learn about lines and shapes, and simple shading. Each week, kids will try new drawing tools and have fun bringing their ideas to life. Perfect for beginners—no experience needed, just a love for art!
DAY & TIME: Thursday 4pm-5pm
In this 11-week Winter session, young artists will exercise their creativity to the fullest using a variety of media and techniques. All materials are included in the price.
GROUP: 8-12 years olds
DAY & TIME: Tuesdays 4-5pm

This course is designed for young artists to have fun creating projects using a variety of media and techniques.
Two printed projects will be included in the activity using Carlos’ printing atelier!
DAY & TIME: Saturday 11am-12pm
This course will focus on learning the Elements of Art through fun and diverse art-making projects. We will explore colour, line, shape, texture and form through two and three-dimensional art projects. Using pastels, paint, collage and sculpting materials, students will learn how to use the elements of art to express their creativity.
We are offering several options for class day and time:

DAY & TIME: Saturday 10am-11am
PRICE: $555 (30 weeks, works out to $18.50 per class including materials)
DAY & TIME: Monday 6:00pm-7:00pm
In this course students will learn perspective, composition, use of colour and shading as well as sculptural technique, using materials such as pen, markers, paint, collage and sculpting media. This course is designed to encourage students to discover their sense of self-expression ranging from realistic interpretation to intuitive expression.
GROUP: 12 years+
DAY & TIME: Saturday 11am-12pm

PRICE: $555 (30 weeks, works out to $18.50 per class including materials)
Participants in this course will create their own garments from start to finish while learning the basics of sewing and sewing techniques. In addition to developing their manual dexterity, kids will make use of their spatial and visual processing and will be given the freedom to express their unique creativity.
Projects are adapted to each person’s level and style preferences. It should be noted that participants who wish to pursue the class for more than one session can further their skills and knowledge thanks to new activities adapted to their level.
