The Préville Fine Arts Centre has a brand new logo!

Préville is excited to unveil a new logo that reflects our innovative, evolving centre and celebrates this year of big changes… with still more to come in January 2021, so stay tuned!

In the past year, we’ve welcomed a new director and administrative team, revamped the website, jumped head first into online learning and started a dance academy led by a new dance director — all the while adapting to changing demands on how and where we teach. We think this banner year should be commemorated, and how better to do that than with a new logo, or two… or maybe even three (hint hint).

Préville’s history as a leader in arts education on the South Shore of Montreal dates back to 1974, so we wanted to retain a connection to our past by keeping certain aspects of the former logo. Designer and Préville Visual Arts instructor, Sarah Fefer, achieved that by keeping the blue and yellow colour scheme, and updating it with brighter hues to indicate optimism, energy and renewal.

Of the image, Fefer says, “I wanted to reference music and art in an abstract, playful way. I tried to design a shape that would be simple and memorable, and one that might invite people to imagine its meaning.”

Sarah has also designed a new logo for The Préville Dance Academy — one that harmonizes with the Arts Centre logo while adding unique touches to set the Dance Academy apart. You can also be on the lookout for our new icons and banners on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter!

With regards to the third new logo, well, you’ll just have to sit tight for now.
