Pre-professional training for dedicated young dancers

Préville Youth Company provides young dancers  with professional performance and networking opportunities. Company members engage with other dancers, choreographers and directors who work in the dance industry.

Who is eligible and how to Audition

Acceptance into the Préville Youth Company is by audition. If a dancer cannot be present at a live audition, they must send in a video of themselves performing a two-minute solo. This invitation is open to all experienced dancers aged 11-20 years of age. 

Please write a letter and answer the following questions:

  • Why do you wish to participate in Préville Youth Company?
  • What are your goals as a pre-professional dancer?

The focus of the Preville Youth Company programme is to develop the unique artist in each dancer.

*Dancers who are adept at working within a variety of choreographic styles and processes

Members of the Préville Youth Company train together, between 11-15 hours per week, in ballet, pointe, partnering, jazz, contemporary and acro. They also take conditioning classes and have the option to take additional tap and/or hip hop classes.

Préville Youth Company fees include the cost of training hours and production fees for all performances. 

Other fees can include:  competition and associated fees (entry, costume, solo choreography); special project fees; transportation.

This programme is partially funded to enable all dedicated young dancers to develop their artistry. The Préville Fine Arts Centre is a not-for-profit and charity, and as such, we work to ensure that finances are never a barrier to participation.
