Acoustic guitar has always been the ideal accompaniment in songs. This is the notion behind the global approach of the group class. The acoustic technique more specific to folk, pop and blues is played using a pick on the guitar’s six metallic strings. In the class, we will study a variety of chords and rhythms drawn from popular music and learn to decipher the tablatures and chord charts for your favorite tunes.
The classical guitar is a plucked string instrument. Most of the music composed for this solo instrument comes from Europe or South America. With six nylon strings, it is played with the fingers only and produces a soft and melodious sound. In this class, we will study the different techniques and scales particular to classical guitar. We will also learn to read musical scores, the key to unlocking a full musical repertoire!
