A note about Ruth Thomas, part of our Préville family.
(May 25 1963 - March 7, 2022)

Many of you in the Préville community will remember Ruth Thomas, as she touched countless lives with her loving kindness and boundless generosity. As a daughter of Préville founder Belva Thomas, Ruth was part of the Préville family from the time she was 10 years old. She was a gifted young guitar student, who eventually taught guitar, ukulele and mandolin at the centre. She went on to become an active member of the board of directors and finally, she took on the role of Director General from 2006 until 2012.

On March 7, 2022, Ruth passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by family and loved ones, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. She was a bright light and beacon of hope to those who were lucky enough to spend time with her. To her family she was also a beloved daughter, sister, mother, auntie and wife, and she will be missed beyond words.
